12.0 Limitations of dimensional analysis
12.0 Limitations of dimensional analysis
The limitations of dimensional analysis are,
- It supplies no information about dimensionless constants.
- It supplied no information whether a quantity is a scalar or vector.
- This method is applicable only in case of power functions. It fails in the case of exponential and trigonometric relations.
- This method fails to derive the exact form of a physical relationship if a physical quantity depends on more than three other physical quantities.
