11.0 Cross product of two vectors
11.0 Cross product of two vectors
Cross product is also known as vector product because the product of two vectors is a vector quantity.
Mathematically it is given as,
$$\overrightarrow A \times \overrightarrow B = \left| {\overrightarrow A } \right|\left| {\overrightarrow B } \right|\sin \theta \ \ \widehat n$$
$\widehat n$ is the unit vector perpendicular to both vector $\overrightarrow A $ and $\overrightarrow B $.
$\theta$ is the angle between vector $\overrightarrow A $ and $\overrightarrow B $.
$\left| {\overrightarrow A } \right|\left| {\overrightarrow B } \right|\sin \theta :$ is the magnitude of the cross-product.
$\widehat n:$ is the direction of the cross-product.
