1.0 Introduction

Mechanics: is the branch of physics which deals with the study of motion of masses and effect of forces in causing or modifying these motions.

Kinematics: is the branch of mechanics which deals with the motion without investigating the forces involved.

Dynamics: is the study of effect of forces in causing or modifying the motion of masses.

Statics: deals with bodies in equilibrium.

Kinetics: deals with effect of forces changing the motion of the bodies.
