1.0 Solution
Solution is a homogenous mixture of two or more components whose composition can be changed within certain limits. By homogenous we mean there should not be any visible boundary in the mixture, then only it will be a solution. The components of a solution can be solid, liquid or gas.
A binary solution is solution which is consists of two components i.e., solute and solvent.
- Solvent: It is that component whose physical properties are resembled by solution. Generally, it is the component present in large quantity.
- Solute: It is the component present in less quantity. All component other than solvent are solute.
