    8.0 Heat Capacity

8.0 Heat Capacity
The heat capacity $(C)$ of a sample of a substance is defined as the quantity of heat energy required to raise its temperature by $1 K (or 1°C).$

From this definition.
$$q = C.{\text{ }}\Delta t$$

Where q is the quantity of heat given to the sample; $?t$ is the rise in the temperature of the substance. Heat capacity is an extensive property.
