1.0 Rigid body

A body is said to be rigid if the distance between any two points on the body remains constant under the action of any force.

Consider any two points $A$ & $B$ on a rigid body.

Under the action of number of force, the distance between the points $A$ & $B$ remains constant as shown in the figure.
