1.0 Introduction
Electrostatics is a branch of physics that deals with the phenomena and properties of stationary or slow-moving electric charges.
When we comb our hair on a dry day and bring the comb close to tiny pieces of paper, we note that they are attracted by the comb. This happens due to the transfer of the electron from hair to the comb. Now, the comb becomes negatively charged. So, it induces a dipole in the pieces of paper and the paper gets attracted.
