2.0 Basic Notations
Let $A$ and $B$ be two events.

1. Set union, '$ \cup $' :- $A \cup B$ stands for occurrence of either one of them.

$A \cup B$

2. Set intersection, '$ \cap $' :- $A \cap B$ stands for occurrence of both the events simultaneously.

Here the green area shows the $A \cap B$

3. Set negation, $\overline A {\rm{or }}{A^c}$ stands for non-occurrence of $A$.

Here the shaded portion denotes $\overline A {\rm{or }}{A^c}$

4. Set negation-intersection, $\overline A \cap \overline B $ stands for non-occurrence of both of them.

By De' Morgans law, $(\overline {A \cup B} ) = \bar A \cap \bar B$

5. $'A \subseteq B'$ stands for "the occurrence of $A$ implies occurrence of $B$".
