Similar to the linear expansion in area expansion also the fractional change in area is proportional to change in temperature,$$\begin{equation} \begin{aligned} \frac{{\Delta A}}{{{A_0}}} = \beta \Delta T\quad or\quad \Delta A = \beta {A_0}\Delta T \\ A - {A_0} = \beta {A_0}\Delta T \\ A = {A_0}\left( {1 + \beta \Delta T} \right) \\\end{aligned} \end{equation} $$Where $\beta $ is the coefficient of areal expansion.
