Two vectors are collinear if they lie on the same line or parallel lines. The condition on two non-zero vectors $\overrightarrow a $ and $\overrightarrow b $ to be collinear/parallel is $$\overrightarrow a = \lambda \overrightarrow b $$ where $\lambda$ is some scalar non-zero value.
