Motion in Two Dimension
    2.0 Projectile motion

2.0 Projectile motion

Projectile motion is a free fall motion of any body in a horizontal path with constant velocity.

Consider a body is projected with a velocity $u$ at an angle $\theta$ with the horizontal.

$u \cos \theta$ and $u \sin \theta$ are the components of $u$ in the horizontal and vertical directions respectively. The path followed by the particle is a parabola and the motion of the particle is called as projectile motion.

It is an example of two-dimensional motion with constant acceleration.

Projectile motion is considered as the combination of two simultaneous motion in mutually perpendicular directions (horizontal and vertical) which are completely independent of each other.

So, we break projectile motion in $x$ and $y$ directions respectively.
