It is that current which comes into play in the region, wherever the electric field and hence the electric flux is changing with time.
The displacement current is given by,

where,
${\varepsilon _0}$: Permittivity of free space
$\frac{{d{\phi _E}}}{{dt}}$: Rate of change of electric flux
