5.1 Laws of Photoelectric emission
  • The emission of photoelectrons is instantaneous.

  • The number of photoelectrons emitted per second is proportional to the intensity of the given incident light.

  • The maximum velocity with which electrons emerge is dependent solely on there frequency and not on the intensity of the incident light.

  • There is always a lower limit of frequency called threshold frequency below which no emission takes place, however high the intensity of the radiation may be.
