3.1 Solubility of gas in liquids
Gases dissolves in different amount in different liquids.

Also, different gases disolves in different amount in same liquid.

It means solubility of gases in liquids depends on both nature of gas and nature of liquid.

Example: ${O_2}$ dissolves less in water then $HCl$.

Gases which undergoes disassociation in water are more soluble in it.

Solubility of gases in liquids depends on both temperature and pressure.

Effect of Pressure

Generally, the solubility of gases in liquids increases with increase in pressure.

Solubility is expressed in terms of mole fraction of gas.

The effect of pressure on solubility of gases in liquids is governed by Henry's law.
