The sum of the diagonal elements of a square matrix is called the trace of a matrix.
Example:
$A = \left[ {\begin{array}{c} 1&6&0 \\ { - 8}&3&4 \\ 2&{ - 1}&3 \end{array}} \right]$ , then Trace of $A=1+3+3=7$
