There are two types of medium,
1. Rarer medium
2. Denser medium
When we compare two media such as medium 1 and medium 2. Let medium 1 is a rarer medium and medium 2 is a denser medium.
Rarer medium: Medium 1 is known as the rarer medium when the light travels faster is medium 1 as compared to medium 2.
Denser medium: Medium 2 is known as the denser medium, when the light travel slower in medium 2 as compared to medium 1.
Note: Plural of medium is known as media.
