5.5 Silvering of lens
If any surface of a lens is silvered , it then behaves as a mirror.

The power of mirror thus formed will be equal to the sum of powers of the optical lenses and the mirror in between.

Mathematically it is given by,
$${P_{{\text{final mirror}}}} = {P_{{\text{lens}}}} + {P_{{\text{mirror}}}} + {P_{{\text{lens}}}}$$$$P = \frac{1}{f} + \frac{2}{{{R_2}}} + \frac{1}{f}$$
