When an AC power supply is rectified in order to provide a DC supply there is always some part of the original signal.
If frequency of the input AC supply is $50\ Hz$, then for a half wave rectification, ripple frequency is $50\ Hz$.
Similarly, for a full wave rectification, ripple frequency is $100\ Hz$
